A large anchor has been moved from its resting place at the entrance to the Braid and has a new home outside Coquet Yacht Club.
Commodore of Coquet Yacht Club Phil Derry told The Ambler:
“With permission from the Warkworth P.C. It has been moved to Coquet Yacht Club for safe keeping and to add a more nautical flavour to our club which is connected to Amble.”
The original history of the anchor appears to be in some doubt, so Ambler readers are being asked to help fill in the gaps.
