Amble2020: Report launch and conference
A report on the next wave of Amble’s regeneration projects will be launched on 24 October, together with a conference, which will bring together regional strategic organisations.
Speakers at the conference will discuss regeneration issues such as sustainability, new agencies and funding opportunities, and skills and youth training.
The report entitled Amble2020, has been produced by Professor John Shutt, Centre for Urban and Regional Studies, Newcastle University/ HRP Ltd and Julia Aston, Director of Amble Development Trust.
The report has been endorsed by Amble Town Council and Northumberland County Council, who will be using it as part of their regeneration strategy for Amble. Copies of the report can be obtained by emailing Julia Aston: julia@ambledevelopmenttrust.org.uk
Pictured: Julia Aston, director of Amble Development Trust, presented a hamper of Northumbrian produce to Dr Cheng Hui Fang of the University of Zhejiang in Hangzhou, the fourth largest city in China. Professor Shutt, who lives in Amble, is working together with Professor Cheng on several regional growth and innovation projects in China. Professor Cheng was interested in visiting Amble and Northumberland to learn more about tourist opportunities and social enterprise.
