Millie Urwin’s fishing success

Five-year-old Amelia (Millie) Urwin was “thrilled to bits” to win the Juniors category of the Open Shore Sea Angling competition held on 10 June. She won the category with two flat fish and she caught the heaviest flattie of the entire competition. The Duchess of Northumberland presented Millie with two trophies and a medal.

Her grandmother, Norma Urwin, who runs the Amble Angling Centre, told The Ambler, “Amelia was so happy winning the juniors and getting her medal and trophy  but most of all she was thrilled with her three Greys baseball caps and wandered around all night in one. She was presented with her medal by the Duchess of Northumberland and Nick Gillingham Olympic Swimmer”.

The Ladies’ Competition was won by Elaine Scott, Millie’s aunt.
