Neighbourhood police team
Amble neighbourhood Policing Team report that figures for April 2011 show that all crime in Northumberland is down generally.
Examples of figures for the Amble and Alnwick area include: 57 crimes compared to 91 this time last year; 14 instances of criminal damage compared to 21 last year and three instances of assault where less serious injuries resulted compared to 21 last year. There were two more burglaries to dwellings and six more vehicle related crimes which is a concern to us. Almost half of all the crimes in Northumberland are successfully resolved.
It is a concern locally that under-age youths are being supplied with alcohol and as a result they are causing anti-social behaviour (ASB). Adults doing so will be prosecuted. Braid Hill, North View and the streets off Queen Street are areas that receive regular targeted attention and we receive very good cooperation from both local residents and Northumberland Estates.
It is recognised that parking space is at a premium in the town. Inconsiderate parking inconveniences all of us however. Drivers are reminded that single yellow lines restrict parking in accordance with the hours shown on the signs displayed nearby.
