Taser used during arrest

A taser was used during the arrest of a man wanted for a series of incidents in Amble.  A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “We can confirm that a man was arrested in the Amble area of Northumberland shortly after 4pm on Wednesday 4 September.
“The man, Evan Jukes, 20, of Leslie Drive in Amble, has now been charged with coercive control and non-fatal strangulation.
“He appeared before Newcastle Magistrates’ Court on Friday [6 Sept] and following a hearing was remanded in custody until a later date.”

New Police personnel begin work

A new Inspector and Neighbourhood Sergeant have come into post after responsibility for the Amble area was handed back to the Alnwick Neighbourhood Team at the beginning of June.
Inspector Thomas Ashley is the new Police inspector for the area, while Tracey Brown is the new Neighbourhood Sergeant covering Alnwick and surrounding area, which includes Amble.

Responding to concerns from the community, on 16 July 2024, officers from the Serious Violence Disruption Unit (SVDU) attended an address in Amble to execute a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.

Three people were arrested and released on Police bail, with a quantity of items seized from the address. This type of activity is carried out in direct response to information passed to Police.
On 5 September officers executed a warrant just outside Amble, resulting in drugs being seized and a person being interviewed.
If you know of drug dealing in your area and have current information in relation to those involved in supply of drugs in the community, or suspect something is going on at an address, we would love to know about it.

Recently in Amble there has been a slight increase in bike ASB reports. Of particular concern is a report regarding someone riding a black coloured Quad bike with a small child passenger being carried on the front.
Please report any concerns regarding bike ASB, and if you have any information regarding the identity of the rider of the Quad Bike in Amble, you can contact CSO 4089 Darin at darin.fawcett@northumbria.police.uk
