Police search for man ‘with air weapon’ on Queen Street
Police were called to an incident on Queen Street yesterday (Wednesday 26 September) after reports that a man was seen with a gun.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “At 1pm yesterday (Wednesday), we received a report of a male who may have been in possession of an air weapon on Queen Street, in Amble.
“It was reported that the male then left the scene in a vehicle.
“No one was reported to have been injured but a full investigation has been launched and enquiries are ongoing to locate the person.”
At around 3pm on the same afternoon, several streets in the Beal Bank/Beal Croft area of Warkworth were blocked by police cars while a search was conducted for the same male.
