Two new businesses soon to open their doors
Hot on the heels of new cocktail bar, Hummingbird, which opened in early March, Amble is set to welcome two more independent food and drink businesses
Gracy’s
A new deli is due to open at the top of Queen Street in mid April. Owners Lesley Warne and Sarah Vaughan told The Ambler: “Gracy’s will be a hot and cold deli and eatery. We’ll be using local food as much as possible, with local producers, and we want to be a real part of the community.”
Gracy’s will sell large jacket potatoes, salads and soups every day, and will also offer specialities based on the season or day, or whatever is available. There will also be an emphasis on producing the minimum amount of waste. Check them out on Facebook for updates.
Firehouse No1
Firehouse No1 on Leazes Street (previously the Sand Bar)will sell their unique street food inspired burgers, chicken and steak takeaway boxes. Owner Gary Harland hopes to open in the next few weeks.
Gary told The Ambler: “We specialise in a variety of street food. I am very passionate about what we have set up. It’s been years in planning and visiting street events and shops all over England and Europe. We source local produce, and use bio degradable packaging. We make everything by hand and everything is cooked fresh to order.”
