With the Town Square packed, Amble commemorated Remembrance Sunday 2022 with the laying of wreaths, a short service by Coquet Churches Together and the blessing of the new Seafarers Memorial within the Memorial Gardens.

They fought for Crown, country and for us. My sincere thanks and love to them. They went forth with no training, without adequate gear, in icy cold waters in trenches, without food, without a future.
Reflecting at the Memorial services is this sense of alarm, that we now have a military whose job description does not include fighting on the beaches to protect our borders and to keep this beautiful land a safe haven for generations to come.
The home secretary in order to divert attention from her deliberate breach of ministerial code and re appointment has pledged even more money to France. I always thought that France were happy to see their migrants leave their shores. Nowt is gonna happen. Why aren’t world organisations imposing sanctions and taking to task countries these refugees are fleeing? There were videos on You Tube by activists who give real news, as also GB news, that showed shocking footage of so called refugees protesting at Westminster at the weekend.
Yes, standing besides the cenotaph and praying and reflecting, I am even more grateful to these brave fallen.
