Neighbourhood Plan update
The Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group will be meeting on 27th September 2021 via Zoom to drive forward the development plan for Hauxley.
We have been successful in obtaining a further grant of £5,931.00 from Locality to support us through progressing the Neighbourhood Plan through to draft form.
Hauxley Parish Council have agreed to change the designated neighbourhood area to reflect the change of parish boundary as a result of the Amble Community Governance Review.
Local Transport Plan Priorities 2022/23
Hauxley Parish Council has agreed to repeat its priorities for the Local Transport Plan from 2021-22 – while we have received feedback from Northumberland County Council to say they are being considered; we believe these are high priority matters that must be addressed.
Priority:
- The introduction of a lower speed limit/traffic calming for the entire extent of Highway between High Hauxley and Low Hauxley,
- The introduction of a safe and formal pedestrian route between High Hauxley and Low Hauxley,
- Improvements to access via the introduction of parking restrictions at Links Road, Low Hauxley.
Free Trees
Hauxley Parish Council has agreed to apply for a free pack of trees from Northumberland County Council. The trees will be planted within the Parish with the locations yet to be determined.
The trees are part of the County Council’s commitment to reduce carbon emissions.
The offer of free trees is open to residents too with over 10,000 trees ringfenced for residents at a rate of one per household.

Vacancy – Parish Clerk
We are looking to recruit a Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer to join Hauxley Parish Council. The role of Parish Clerk is interesting, rewarding and varied, playing a vital part in ensuring the duties of the council are conducted properly. The vacancy is for 12 hours per month.
