Old Miners’ Bath House is now home to local artists

After years of lying dormant and falling into disrepair the Old Miners Bath House in North Broomhill is getting life breathed into it once more.
The iconic red bricked building built in the late 50’s for miners and their families to shower in has been bought privately and is taking on a new lease of life.
Artists are taking up residence in the building and the owner is keen to develop the site as an artists hub.
Already a print-maker, sculptor , sign writer, carpenter and glass artist have moved in.

This promises to be the start of something very worthwhile, both for the local community and visitors to Northumberland.
If you get a chance pop down to the glass studio which is open to the public Tuesday to Saturday 10 till 4pm and you will receive a very warm welcome.
