Year 5 battles the Lego robots
Congratulations to students at King Edwin Primary who came second in the Lego League Challenge competition held in North Tyneside.

The students from King Edwin Primary came second in the Lego robot competition
The team of ten youngsters in Year 5 competed against 19 other teams from primary and high schools across Northumberland and North Tyneside. They took part in robot programming challenges and delivered a presentation in front of a panel of judges.
The King Edwin children were the youngest group taking place in the competition. They prepared for several weeks for the full day event, which was held at the Village Hotel in North Tyneside.

The children were presented with a Lego trophy
“It was a surprise to come second. We cheered, when we heard,” said one of the group. “We are all really happy.”
The children were presented with a Judges award for their application of the Lego First core values and creativity in designing their own robot.
“The look on their faces was lovely,” said Teaching Assistant Miss Wilkie. “They showed fantastic teamwork. We are so proud of them and how they worked together as a group.”
