Cllr Jeff Watson

In response to requests I state below the latest regarding the Coble Quay footpath closure at the harbour which has been closed for such a long time. I have to say I am disappointed by how long it has taken to get to this point.

“The County Council remains in negotiation with Amble Marina regarding proposals which would enable the repairs to be undertaken to the Coble Quay walkway and the reopening of the circular path to the public, while also facilitating the reopening of the unsurfaced parking area for public use. Work is currently being undertaken by NCC to prepare a new revised proposal for consideration by Amble Marina.

“The Council will update stakeholders and the general public of the outcome of negotiations as and when the process has been concluded and an agreement reached.”

I am aware of encroaching vegetation along Rotary Way and am trying to get this cut back, the particular issue is with gorse bushes making it difficult for walkers and cyclists.

I am still engaged in discussions re a safe crossing point on the A1068 in the Wynd area.
