TRUST Life News from Amble Development Trust #148
Hello everyone. During July we hosted the photographic display of Amble regeneration over the last 30 years, and celebrated the Trust’s 30th birthday at the AGM.
Matthew applied his own brand of humour to headlines which raised a few smiles!
There were quite a few visitors to view the display, which was taken down to allow others use of the display boards. However given the interest we may set it up again – with the number of photos we have it could be alternated over the coming months.
Sadly once again I am not able to offer an update on the Playzone contract start date. It is rather frustrating but there are so many factors involved in the various contracts that NCC are managing, bringing them together is causing the delay.
On Neighbourhood Planning – work has begun by a group of volunteers. If you are interested in any updates, there is a website (https://www.ambleplan.org) where updates will be posted along with posts on social media, and The Ambler. At this point, the steering group are waiting to hear whether the application for funding for the plan has been successful.
Our thanks to the local First Schools and Amble Youth Project for their nominations for the Good Young Citizen Award. The nominees were four wonderful young ladies who are inspirational within the community.
We hope they enjoyed the variety of prizes found in their goody bags – all supplied by local businesses and Amble Town and Warkworth Parish Councils. Our thanks to each and every one of you for your generosity. Hopefully we will do it all again next year.
At last the Lobster Hatchery is open again, although we are still waiting for some berried hens (mummies in waiting) to arrive. Once installed in the maternity ward the whole system will be in full swing. But at the minute you can call in and see Davey the Dog Fish, which is actually a small shark!
So until next time, when we will be heralding the darker nights and colder weather but looking forward to Christmas (oh yes, we will), enjoy what is left of summer.
