Saying goodbye to Chris Herzberg

We were saddened to learn of the death of Chris Herzberg. Always a lively spirit, Chris delighted in shaking up complacency. It was appearing on TV’s Escape to the Country which brought her to Amble, and she soon began to make friends and joined many groups.
Her ability to tell it like she saw it, and her prediliction for dirty jokes made her a popular and upfront member of the community. She developed a fierce support of her adopted town but was not afraid to call out local businesses and organisations, especially after her stroke when she needed access with her wheelchair.
Chris joined The Ambler team in 2018 and quickly became an advocate of the local arts, culture and leisure scene, writing many reviews for us. She was especially supportive of NTC and local theatrical productions, always encouraging the community to attend.
We send our condolences to all Chris’ friends and family.
