What hard work – and the community – can do

Work by volunteers on the pavilion at Amble Welfare has transformed the interior of the building, so players and visiting teams for AFC Amble will soon have a base to be proud of.

A crowdfunding campaign brought £1,640 to the renovation campaign, and volunteers worked tirelessly to clean and update the kitchen, bar and main lounge area, with tiling, new worktops, carpet and a brand new TV all installed to make the space welcoming and warm.
Much of the hard work has been done by Gary Morrison and Mark Ellis.
Gary told The Ambler “The crowdfunder started at the end of February and we started working straight away. Mark and I have put a lot of our own money into this, plus a lot of time and effort.”
“It shows what hard work can do. A lot of businesses came and have done work or donated things. A man even brought us a brand-new telly! They all deserve a thank you from the club and the community. We’d never have got there without their help.”
Work is still underway to upgrade the showers, so any more help will be gladly received. You can find their crowdfund page here:
