The Ambler receives prestigious accolade
Over thirty community newspapers entered the ICNN Independent Community Newspaper of the Year award, and The Ambler was selected to be in the final eight, drawing a Commended accolade on the night.
At the awards ceremony held at the Hilton in Park Lane, the judges described The Ambler as a touching and very worthy community initiative, with one declaring “It’s so good, it’s collectable.”
The winner of the ICNN Independent Community Newspaper was the Peckham Peculiar. The Bristol Cable received Highly Commended. Other categories in the 2023 Newspaper Awards included Regional Newspaper (Yorkshire Post), and National Newspaper of the Year (FT)
Ambler editor Anna Williams said “It was an absolute honour to have been shortlisted alongside these other community newspaper titles. It’s heartening to be in such prestigious company. I would like to thank all our contributors, volunteers, and supporters, we really couldn’t do it without you all.”
