Three events for 2023 International Women’s Day
The Women’s Workshop are putting on three events to mark the 2023 International Women’s Day (8 March)
HERitage Fair: 10.30am – 2.30pm on Monday 6 March at the Dovecote Centre
Activism Day: 10.30am – 2.30pm on Tuesday 7 March at the Dovecote Centre
HERitage Fair Mon 6 March
The HERitage Fair features stalls with lovely arts and crafts created by local women, as part of our HERitage project. Most stalls will also include a taster activity so you can get creative. There will be refreshments and information stalls about what’s available for women locally including business advice. The day will end with a bike ride taster too!

Activism Day Tues 7 March
Hosted by Northumberland Women’s Network (NWN) this event is about having a say on issues that affect local women, including Rape Crisis / PCC women-focussed research on getting public safety messages right; ideas for improving women’s appointments take-up, and hear about research projects on how care workers and women interested in careers in green industries are faring in the cost of living crisis. There are also two brilliant speakers – sharing their experience of women as natural builders, and as trade union activists. The day will end with a meeting of NWN’s Activism group which anyone can join if they are not already involved.

Green day Wed 8 March
The Women’s Workshop Green Day is the final event, featuring opportunities to garden, work with willow and make your own bird box. You can also reserve your copy of our new poster, a ‘Sow and Grow’ calendar of the gardening year. Lunch included. This will be held at the Women’s Workshop, Coquet Enterprise Park Amble NE65 0PE (look out for the mural!)
