Beauty Queen raises money for hospice
A beautician from Amble has raised £500 for a hospice in memory of her grandfather who died at the beginning of May.
Kay Harding who owns Beauty Queen beauty salon on Queen Street decided to raise the money to thank staff at the Hospice Care North Northumberland for taking such good care of her grandfather in his final weeks.
“My Granda was Leslie Harding and he died aged 85 years old. I wanted to thank the nurses at the hospice who came every day to take care of him, so I started a domino card to win a full day’s pamper session at my salon. With the help of my clients, I raised £500 in two days.”
Kay has fond memories of her granda. “My Granda had a great sense of humour, one of my favourite memories is going strawberry picking in Felton with him, my Nanna and cousin. He used to tell us not to eat the strawberries while we where picking them as they would weigh us on the way out and give us wrong, we used to be scared to leave when we had to pay the man!”
