Ray King obituary in The Independent
There was a lovely article on the late Ray King in a recent edition of The Independent, which mentions Ray’s inclusion in the 1956 FA tour of South Africa. Readers may be interested to know that Ray donated an original photo of that tour team to The Ambler.

Locals may recognise the photo, which has been on show in various locations in Amble before being given to The Ambler. It is entitled “Football Association tour of South Africa and Rhodesias 1956” and features the entire squad, including Ray himself, alongside team member Bobby Robson.
