Megan’s footballing skills recognised

James Calvert Spence College Yr. 7 student Megan Farrell, from Widdrington attended a football camp at Durham during the February half-term holiday.
The training sessions were run by three professional women footballers, including Jill Scott who plays for Manchester City FC, England and was also part of Team GB in the London Olympics.
Megan is a member of the Bedlington town Bulldogs, playing centre or mid-field positions.
“I thoroughly enjoyed the experience working with professionals and learning new skills and techniques”, she said.
“I will be able to put them to good use playing with my local team.”
At the end of the camp Megan was delighted to be presented with a signed Manchester City football shirt and named ‘Footballer of the Week’.
