Fantastic efforts with Poppy appeal
Christmas greetings to everyone and a very Happy New Year from Warkworth & Amble District Royal British Legion!
The branch committee would like to thank everyone who worked tirelessly for the 2013 Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
The total sum raised will be announced on the Warkworth website www.warkworth.co.uk and Ambler website. Special thanks also go to Sgt. Watson and Amble Army Cadet Force for their fantastic effort in the district.
The Branch will be supporting the WW1 Centenary events in August 2014 and hopes anyone in Amble with an ancestor who participated in the Great War will support us and contact the clerk at Amble Town Council with photos and family history so that it can be respectfully recorded for future generations.
As the nation’s leading Armed Forces charity, the Legion spends £1.6 million a week, or £84 million a year on vital welfare work to serving and ex-Service people and their families. Approximately 9.5 million people in the UK are eligible for the Legion’s support and we are proud to serve those in need, today and for the rest of their lives.
