The Unfolding Sky
Celebrating the Festival of the North East and touring to the region’s best-loved castles and priories, The Unfolding Sky: Turner in the North by Dora Frankel Dance is a vibrant re-imagining of the extraordinary depictions of the Northumberland countryside, captured on canvas by the great English landscape painter JMW Turner.
A collaboration between artistic director and choreographer Dora Frankel and innovative composer Peter Coyte, and performed in the open air by three dancers, it captures all that is best and most exciting in our landscape.
The event takes place on Sat 15th June 7-8pm in the Castle grounds. Seating will not be provided, please bring own deckchairs or rugs. Performance length approx. 40 minutes. Please dress appropriately as this is an outdoor performance. Please feel free to bring picnics.
