Amble First School

Edwin-St-OfstedOur Ofsted inspection was early in December, in the midst of all our Christmas preparations and we were thrilled that that inspectors found all aspects of the school to be good.

This is a fitting recognition of the determination and enthusiasm of every member of staff to make the absolute best provision possible for every pupil.

We were particularly delighted by comments which noted the effectiveness of this positive ethos, such as
• pupils of all abilities achieve well and make good progress,
• pupils always experience success,
• pupil’s good relationships and caring attitudes make the school a happy and safe place to learn,
• strong teamwork between teachers and teaching assistants to  support pupils.

We are now ready to move forward even further – we believe that Amble First School is a place where everyone knows that they can achieve well and grow, sharing the belief and trust that together we can reach what we are aiming for.

family-learningMums and children worked together developing mathematical skills with local authority tutor Alison Hanmer on a ten week family learning course.

Adults and children all enjoyed the work, which is designed to give parents a clear understanding of how maths is taught in schools these days – and how they can support their children towards success in this subject.
