Harbour wall repairs
Repairs to the harbour quay were started in December and should be finished by May. Severe damage was caused by floods in September 2008.
Now steel piles are being driven in to form the front of the quay to strengthen it.
A grant of £275,000 was received from the Marine Management Organisation and European Fisheries Fund. Warkworth Harbour Commissioners provided a further £275,000.
The work is being carried out by South Bay Civil Engineering of North Shields.
