Forward to their future
Year 13 leavers of James Calvert Spence College celebrated their final day on Friday 29 June, by attending a Cheese and Wine reception with parents and invited guests, alongside staff and friends at the High School.
The reception was not only a chance for everyone to say a final farewell, but to also celebrate the many successes they have enjoyed at school over the years.
Awards were presented to many of the students in specific subjects, recognising special talents and efforts, and also for contributions made to the school and the community. Cameron Wintrip and Mark Barrass were awarded prizes for their long-standing voluntary work, both in and out of school, and Liam Stevens received an award, ‘Promotion of the school Ethos’, for his exceptional attitude and enthusiastic support in school.
After the awards were presented, students and staff continued into Newcastle to The Falcons Rugby Club for a dinner and disco.
They look forward to the A level results this month, and their chosen paths to university, employment or training.
