Tempting treats
Amble is now home to another tasty new venture as a new business moves into town. Leanne Greenley has opened a chocolate and cupcake shop on the corner of Leazes Street, hoping to tempt locals and tourists with her homemade treats.
“It’s something I’ve always been interested in,” said Leanne. “I did all my own wedding favours and cakes for friends, so I thought why not make a business of it.”
Simply Sweet opened on May Bank Holiday and quickly found themselves sold out of stock. Leanne can also provide cakes and favours for weddings, parties and functions. “I bake giant cupcakes as well as the smaller ones, birthday cakes too – basically anything anyone asks for.”
Leanne will be holding a raffle in aid of Marie Curie and Orchid Cancer care charities. tickets £1 per strip. The draw will be held at the end of June.
Simply Sweet is open Monday 10am – 5pm, Tuesday 9am – 4pm, Wednesday closed, Thursday 9am – 4pm, Friday 10am – 5pm, Saturday 9.30am – 4pm, Sunday 9.30 – 2pm.
