St. Cuthbert’s wedding fayre
Our recent Brides & Bouquets event attracted many visitors. We had a great day with a display of old and new wedding dresses, and a magnificent wedding car.
We talked to many people about weddings of the past and the future, including several young couples interested in a wedding. We hope this event sparked off a few more couples thinking about getting married in church and keeping the tradition alive.
The whole weekend would not have been possible without the ladies who donated their dresses, hats and wedding photos for the church decoration.
Many thanks to the organizers, the ladies who decorated the church, put on the displays and the flower arrangements, and the ladies providing teas in the Parish Hall, where the table was set for the wedding fare and where there were more displays by businesses showing their wares.
The weekend took weeks of organising and planning but it was worth it. It was a splendid weekend and brought back happy memories and hopes for the future.
