Castles and Islands challenge
Friday 24th – Saturday 25th June 2011
The event is a challenge for teams of 4 to 6 sailors and runners. Runners start from Alnwick Castle and take a cross country route, via Warkworth Castle, to Amble where they join their boats.
The yachts then race to Seahouses, Holy Island and Low Newton, via Inner Sound and Staple Sound in the Farnes.
At each harbour the runners disembark to complete runs around Bamburgh, Lindisfarne and Dunstanburgh Castles before returning to the finish at Amble.
The challenge is to complete the course within 24 hours.
