St Cuthbert’s RC First School

St Cuthbert’s RC First School celebrated their last week in school before the Christmas holidays with lots of exciting activities.
The PTA organised a Christmas Fayre in the school and the fantastic sum of £456.35 was raised. They would like to thank local businesses and the many parents who generously donated prizes for the raffle and tombola.
The whole school went to the Whitley Bay Playhouse on Thursday, 16th December again organised by the PTA to see the panto “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”. This was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
School Christmas plays were moved to the last week, because of the adverse weather but this didn’t stop Santa dropping in by helicopter and landing on the school field on the afternoon of Tuesday, 14th December much to the amazement and wonder of all the children.
He chatted to children and parents, and left a big black sack full of presents for each class.
And on the last day of term the children took part in a “Christmas Hat” competition and the winners are seen here in the photograph.
