Helping people shed the pounds
Slimming World in Amble is so popular, that another weekly meeting is being organised. Rachael Green is the new consultant for the Amble group which already meets on Monday evenings, and she is pleased to be able to add a Wednesday class to the schedule.
“I can’t wait to get started with the Wednesday class,” she said. “It’s going to be in the morning, so there’s something for those who can’t make an evening.”
Classes are held at Trinity Methodist Church Hall on Monday evenings at 5.30pm and 7.30pm. The new Wednesday class will start at 9.30am in the Dovecote Centre.
Rachael took over running the Amble group meetings when her predecessor Shirley Knox retired in January. Rachael who lives in Amble, had worked for Homes for Northumberland for 12 years before taking voluntary redundancy.
“It’s worked out really well” said Rachael “It’s so rewarding at Slimming World, I enjoy helping people and we give loads of support and help to people wanting to lose weight. It’s all about healthy eating and losing weight in the process.”
Rachael encourages anyone who is interested in healthy eating or losing weight to come along and find out more. Half price membership is available at the moment and she says there are nearly always special offers.
“These are such friendly groups; loads of friendships have been formed. Come along, there’s no obligation to join. Just pop in and see what it’s all about. We have people of all ages, men and women. Everyone’s welcome.”
